Carolyn Wolford has been part of the New Life Providence family since 2000 and has worked as an office assistant since December of 2007. Being a “people person”, Carolyn enjoys working in the front office. She stays busy with her responsibilities of receiving and directing calls, assisting the office manager with various administrative tasks and providing a friendly atmosphere to all who enter the office.
Although she enjoys being around all people, Carolyn enjoys serving in the youth department and wants to be a reflection of God’s unconditional love towards them. She gained a heart for teenagers after going through some rough times with her own teens. During that period of time she began to understand that we truly do not wrestle against flesh and blood, and if we do not contend for our teens’ lives in the place of prayer, the enemy with his own agenda would be ready and waiting to devour their lives. Under the leadership of Liam Coventry, Carolyn serves at the weekly youth meetings and at various other youth events.
Growing up predominantly in the Northern Virginia area, Carolyn and her husband, Bob, moved to Virginia Beach in 1979. She worked at Christian Broadcasting Network until she began her family in 1982 and has spent the past twenty-seven years in the greatest vocation of all – motherhood. With her children nearly all grown, Carolyn looks forward to all that God has in store for her in this fast approaching transition of seasons in her life. One exciting transition that has already taken place in Carolyn’s life is that of becoming a grandmother. Her first grandchild, Shiloh, was born in 2007, and in October 2009 Shiloh will have a little brother or sister! In addition to the enjoyment her family brings to her life, Carolyn enjoys a good cup of coffee, a good book, and quiet times on the beach where she sees her Creator the most.
