Joel Solomon joined the Providence staff in the summer of 2008 as the young adult and college-age pastor. This venture in full time vocational ministry marks the culmination of eight years of volunteer college-age ministry.

Upon completion of his two undergraduate degrees and already three years of college-age ministry at his college, Joel felt the prompting to move into the direction of full-time ministry. Thus he packed his car and moved to Virginia Beach to begin his seminary work, which ended in a Master’s of Divinity. While pursuing that degree, Joel began to work in New Life Providence’s young adult and college-age ministry in a number of capacities.

Joel met and married his wife Avery (born and raised in Virginia Beach) within the church, they have been happily married for three years.

Both Joel and Avery are excited to see a movement of young adults and college students begin to shape Hampton Roads.  There is a call from heaven for this generation to begin to step into their God-breathed destinies and impact the world around them.

With a passion to see lives formed through Life Groups, the preaching of the Word, community outreaches, prayer, and coaching, Joel and Avery are dreaming big for what God has in store for Hampton Roads.
