Kevin Turpin is a man with many
passions and great ambition. This husband, father, teacher,
counselor, writer, young men’s mentor, and worshiper
accepted the position of senior associate pastor in February
1998 when responding to God’s call to continue pastoral
ministry, originally serving on the New Life at Greenbrier
staff, then making the transition to New Life Providence Church with
Pastor Dan.
In 2005, Pastor Kevin made the transition from serving New Life Providence full-time to pursuing his passion for reaching out to the community with a meaningful impact in Jesus' name. His full-time office is at the Life Enrichment Center (LEC) in downtown Norfolk, an outreach ministry of New Life Providence, where he serves as executive director.
Pastor Kevin continues part-time on the Providence staff. His current duties include sharing Sunday celebration
service responsibilities, leading worship for Wednesday early morning prayer and other events, and conducting pastoral
counseling sessions.
While pursuing a Master of Arts in
Practical Theology, Pastor Kevin worked for Regent University
as the director of development, director of recruitment/ alumni
relations, and student services counselor. His pastoral experience
includes serving as a minister at a Pentecostal church in
Buffalo, New York from 1986 to 1992, and as minister of music
for Christ Covenant Church in 1996.
Married for over 28 years, Kevin and
his wife, Wanda, have a son who is married, and a daughter attending college. Pastor Kevin enjoys playing basketball, racquetball,
and tennis.
