Ryan Caldwell joined the New Life Providence Church staff in July 2007 as Technical Director. Before joining the Providence staff, he and his wife Annetta served for seven years with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Tyler, Texas.
During his time with YWAM, Ryan was a part of Regeneration (Regen) Productions, a mobile ministry team then led by Providence's own Liam Coventry. Ryan headed up all the technical aspects of the team including: video filming and editing, sound, lighting design, and pyrotechnics, along with maintaining the team’s Web page. Ryan and Liam worked closely together putting together a number of multimedia, high impact presentations designed to reach this generation in relevant ways for today's society.
After three years as a part of Regen Productions, Ryan transitioned to YWAM's Ministry Information Systems (MIS) Department which handles the computer network at the Tyler, TX location. While a part of that department, Ryan was responsible for upgrading all of YWAM's network servers as well as establishing the wireless network for the entire 200-acre campus. He also gave programming support to YWAM's Web site, as well as general technical support to YWAM's 200+ staff and students.
On April 12, 2003 Ryan married his wife Annetta, who was also with YWAM and a part of the Regen team, involved with intercessory prayer and dance. Ryan and Annetta have four beautiful children—Sarah, Hannah, Samuel, and Abigail.
Before Ryan joined YWAM, he worked for a sound, lighting, and video production company out of Atlanta, Georgia. This Christian-based company focused on design and installation of church production systems, as well as concerts for Christian and some country artists, plus a number of corporate events. Ryan also traveled with the Christian band Newsong for two years as their lighting and pyrotechnics designer and operator.
Ryan is excited that God has now led him to be a part of New Life Providence Church and is looking forward to all that God has for him here. His goal is to see that, “The presentations we the church give are worthy of the message that Christ has given us.”
